It
all began in 1986 when while on vacation we purchased our first
miniature horse, a 33.50" Stallion - "Bond Triumph" from the late Mr.
C.M. Bond in Lavonia, Georgia. He told us we'd never be satisfied
with just one -- He was right!! Soon after, we purchased a few
32-34" Mares so we could raise our own foals and we were hooked when the
first foal was born !
We
have since sold our first stud and added more Mares. To improve
our herd we then purchased our foundation Stallions. They hail from well
known bloodlines such as "Mustardseeds Alleluia" son of the late "FWF
Legionaire"
known
sire of three generations of National Champion winners and producers,
(shown here on the left for reference). "Mar Ja Commanche"
son
of "Bond Celebration FB" a national champion senior Mare and others you
can see on our stallions page. Recently we have added a beautiful
Appaloosa - BJs Wee Whinnies Whistlebritches, shown here on the right.
He is a son of Grays Loud and Proud by Shadow Oaks Cock Robin. With
these outstanding Stallions, we have been establishing a breeding
program aimed at producing a loving personality with the best
conformation on the smallest horse.
In
1988 when it became time for us to choose a name for our farm, we
decided on "Fallen Star" because where we are located there are actual
Fallen Stars - or Tektites. Georgiaites are the rarest of all tektites
and 95% of all Georgiaites are found very close to where our farm is
located in Dodge county. Like the Georgiaites, we consider our horses to
be the rarest and most special of all .
Fallen
Star Ranch is located in the "Heart" of Georgia. Our climate provides
for year round grazing, which combined with supplemental grain feeding
and intensified programs of worming and vaccination enables us to
produce healthy foals consistently. Health problems are minimal and we
have local Vets along with Equine specialists available to provide
instruction and assistance when needed.
We
welcome you to see first hand the results of our breeding program, and
we'll be glad to share our knowledge of miniatures with you - from
health care to nutrition, from breeding to foaling.
We'll be happy to
make reservations for you in Eastman. There are several modern
motels as well as a Bed and Breakfast available.
